KANU IN QUIT THREAT - AGENT 21 Feb 2001 06:59 Arsenal striker Kanu has delivered an ultimatum to manager Arsene Wenger through his agent.

Kanu has told his boss: "Play me against Lyon or I quit."

I'd have him (for the team, like). Anyone else? He was probably quite touched at that reception he got at SJP last season and he says he finds London lonely and unfriendly, summat you can;t say about Newcastle.

Kanu's agent Frank Sedoc has denied the story...and you can always trust what agents say, can't you?

"I'm aware of his situation at Arsenal, he's under contract until 2004. I can make no comment on Real Madrid speculation, but I certainly never gave Arsenal any kind of ultimatum."

Kanu is a brilliant player, but If he isn't happy in London, can't see him being happy in the frozen wastelands of the North East.

but I certainly never gave Arsenal any kind of ultimatum.

There they go again. Papers leaving off the important parts of statements. The rest of it should be "I actually gave it to some guy from the Mirror/Sun/Your-Rag-Here who then published it. Can I help it if Arsenal saw it?" ;-)

I'd love it. Kanu is what you would get if there was a "Stretch Armstrong" version of Tino. Fabulous player but this story is utter cobblers.
