Here, here.

Y'all, I just announced HYD to my friends... now I'm freaking out.

How was the weekend, T?

MOC and I had a good time. He came to my rehearsal Sunday, and, as these things often happen, I was greeted with a karmic slap heard 'round the world.

We were auditioning a new rhythm guitarist Sunday, and I knew the guy was going to be there, but uh...I didn't realize he'd be the cutest, most badass guitar playing boy in ALL THE WORLD. Sigh... I was weak in the knees.

When Chris had to leave, I was like "Huh? Ok, be careful, whatever your name is."

Hee. Oh, I'm just kidding. The new guy IS cute, though. But y'all know I keep it real.

Weekend was good. We had TERRIBLE storms on Friday night. I had planned on packing, but the tornado sirens were going off so I went to the basement instead. I am a big afraid of the dark wuss. Chris worked late, and by the time he got home at 9, the power was STILL out, so we went and got dinner. I forget the rest of the night.

Saturday was Chris' birthday. We went to the best CD store (it's in Va-Hi, and both C and I used to frequent there, and the guy who works there knows us both from way back and is happy that we're together) and bought cds - the new Aimee Mann and Dolly Parton's The Grass is Blue, a Charles Mingus, and Emmylou's Wrecking Bar (the guy was appalled that neither of us owned that one). Oh, and the Keb' 'Mo one from a few years ago. We had lunch and then went back to the house. I made chili and our friends Josh and Liz and their som came over. I made a birthday pecan pie and I will eat more of it tonight.

What else? I've felt really lightheaded the past few days. I don't know why.

Yesterday, I read most of the morning. Then I went and actually packed up all my shit in the apartment. I also threw out a ton of crap.

I went to the eye dr. this morning (I lost a contact last week) and not I'm at work, busily researching gratuate schools. GA Tech has the number three public policy school in the nation. They let in 20 students a year. I wonder if I could cut it. We'll see.

The next four nights are for cooking and party preparations. I should send y'all invites. We have six people coming to stay at the house. So tonight, I get the plates, etc. Tomorrow is red beans and rice night, Wednesday is crawfish fetuccini night, and Thursday is jambalaya night. C is in charge of the liquor. Oh, and I need to order a king cake.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Mmmmmmm... king cake. Wish I could be there.

By the way, Chris got his first "big letter" from one of The Six. A rejection from Wisconsin. He's sad about it, and actually, I am, too. I want him to get accepted everywhere and go to wherever makes him the happiest. I want good things to happen for him, even if it does mean we split up. He tried to play it off a little, but I could tell he was down.

What? Is my 17-19th thread not good enough for you?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

We snubbed your 17-19th thread! Hehehehahahah!

Y'all, I think Chris has today off from work and didn't tell me. Hmm... I mean, I don't care, but why do that? Are schools closed today?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Hey y'all. Anyone around?

Schools here are closed. Mad Mad's outside with her soccer ball, practicing to be the next Mia Hamm.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Mia Hamm...she's my hero. Seriously.

AB - I have to drive practically to your house for a meeting in a few minutes. I'm so stupid - we could have had lunch today!

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Sirry Arrison!

I'm about to go get my soapmaking ingredients. I am officially a freak of the week.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Wow. Y'all're quiet.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Mikey-poo! I just checked bermanation.com and was saddened to see that it's not up yet.

Any word from the illustrious and ever-elusive Valerie?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

No word from Valerie, although I am aware that not everyone is on e- mail as often as I am. Meloonsa is apparently my only e-mail fan.

BTW, I was looking at the suicide thread last night on pamie [ not because I'm suicidal in any way shape or form, but because I was bored and sick of the Earnhardt stories.]. Did y'all ever see alopekas' post from January? Who knew?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Ugh. I have to go now and drive to Arlington for a stuuupid meeting that could be handled over the phone. "I don't want to go" is putting it mildly.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Oh, we all know you're trying to off yourself, Bermanator.

Whoa. That alopekis story threw me way for a loop. No idea.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Before I skip out - Mike, how's your bro?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Arlington good! You skip meeting and come make soap with Chao Famiry!

We finally got Hooknose Joey a bed. It's FABurous. Oh, and Al? Hooknose Madeleine? You're going to DIE when you see it.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

I have a headache.

Mike, yes, how is your brother?

AB, I got my Chaorentine on Friday - I love it. When will you put your paintings on your site?

Allison, if he does have today off, do you think he would not have told you so that he would not feel obligated to stay an extra day? I'm confused.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

He's fine, I guess. I don't think the visit was as big a deal as I thought it would be.

We're a little weird, in that very few people on either side of the family like to talk about their health. I mean, we'll whine and all that if we have a cold, but people could have an arrow sticking out of their head and just complain of a mild headache. Nobody wants to worry anyone else, and of course as a result everyone worries (particularly about my grandmother) that they're minimizing serious health issues. And so, when Dan was a little nervous before this trip, everyone got worried.

And it was funny on the ride back, because my sister-in-law was grilling him about what happened, what the next step was and so forth, and he so didn't want to talk about it.

He's OK, but they still have no idea what's causing the pain, so it's just frustrating for everyone.

Just in case anyone's wondering, there's a Delta weekend Fan Fare from Dallas to Atlanta for $138 round trip.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

And T -- thank you so much for the Valentine! I got it last week, and it made my day.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

I would love to post them now, but I need a digital camera. Or a scanner. Or something.

Mike and Han, you may need to spray yours with a fixative since y'all have lots of oil/oil pastel on yours. Hair spray will do. I forgot.

T, you think MOC being sneaky?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

I should spray my Chaolentine with Hair Spray? Who knew?

I actually own no hair spray, but I'll go buy some.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

I don't know if MOC's up to anything. But does Al? Not "up to something," but she thought that would be odd if he had the day off and didn't tell her.

I don't know if I'm making any sense at all.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

It makes sense. I guess it's possible--but MOC just seem so sweet! I suppose we should let Arrison tell us what she thinks. Damn the Arlington lunch.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Why I hate PigFatt ... from the Fuzz thread:

"keep trying fred. for some reason I think you'll be the alpha male around here pretty soon. "

Clearly, I am the Alpha Male, titles be damned!

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Ugh, that forum, that forum.

I am still dying to know what rudertrash's fate was. And where has Flaya been today?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

If "I am Bob" posts Tuesday, and RG doesn't, I'm going to post in the Dear Squishites thread some sort of snarky

"Dear I am Bob,"

Wow, you look just like rudergirl!

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

For real. Have either of them posted since Friday?

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Allison, you'll be pleased to know that a total stranger told PigFatt to "go back to his monkeybox."

Hee!

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Where? That rocks!

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

In the furr thread - he was bitching to Fred about an unruly customer he had to deal with.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

That was the longest, most pointless story ever in the history of the forum.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Yep. Although, right now, I'm feeling like this was a hell of a pointless day.

I need to go home and play beauty parlor, or something. Playing beauty parlor always makes me feel better.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Yeah, well, some holiday this was. I've been here four hours, and in meetings for three of them. Urgh.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

Thanks for helping Chris out with Bertha.

I'm going to head out soon. I have a headache.

I'll play beauty parlor, finish the laundry, and go party supply shopping with Caroline.

-- Anonymous, February 19, 2001

I'm back, I'm back.

No, I don't think MOC is up to anything. I guess he's at work. I keep getting e-mails from him. The thing about it is, y'all, it doesn't matter at all if he went back to SA a day early, anyway. I mean, he clearly didn't, but if he did, I can't let myself get too upset about it.

MOC may be my boyfriend, but he's my four-hour-away-see-you-in-3- weeks boyfriend. He can do whatever he wants, and I want him to. I get crazy in my head sometimes, and worry about it, but I NEVAH tell him. Blah blah, we've talked about that before. I'm way too afraid of seeming manipulative to talk to him about stuff.

I'm making no sense today. That's what ARL does to me.
