This may be a totally asanine question but did plutons have anything to do with the naming of the planet Pluto---like how the planet was formed?

Like the rest of the planets Pluto is named after Greek/Roman gods. However, Clyde Tombough (the man who discovered Pluto) allegedly named it PLuto so that he could pay homage to Percival Lowell (Pl), who was an astronomer who predicted Pluto's existance and searched for the planet most of his life.
