Is it possible to play videoCDs on a Hitachi DVD-ROM GD-2500?

Yes - I have the GD-2500 and I have no problems - (although it does not like pirate disks blues & greens - sometimes it refuses to read them) - stick the 100% legal sources as listed on my site at

I had a blue disk (a personal back up I did) which worked fine for a bit then it seemed to deteriorate and now it does not work at all - I wonder if the laser has blanked the disk somehow??
