Clindamycin Solution #1for dental and wound infections

My vet gave my dog Clindamycin Solution #1 for a minor case of gingivitis he said she had. It was following her yearly dental cleaning. She had no other problems and I couldn't even see the inflammation. Once I got home after the clinic closed, I recalled the Baytril story and got scared. Has anyone ever heard of anything bad associated with Clindamycin Solution #1?

RE: gingivitis

I have had SPs all my life. I always try to use non-drug solutions to my own care as well as my pets. When they have bad breath I first check the teeth to make sure there is no dental work needed. Most severe bad breath comes from bad teeth. We also brush their teeth. Also, milk bones are useful. Check their diet. And I buy soup bones every week so they can clean the natural way. Now if you give a dog a bone, make sure you throw it away the next day. Old bones become like rocks and can cause more damage to their teeth than they are worth. On top of that, their owner can get hurt by bones laying around on the floor. I have no knowledge of the drug you are using but my SPs have never had any problems with their teeth.
