Congratulations to the Reds. Great result in Rome, good to see Owen up to speed

Utterly indifferent to any other English team's fate in Europe. I'm never quite sure why a team like Liverpool doing well in Europe is good for English football. What it means is that loads of little bairns will start demanding red shirts instead of supporting their local team.

Spawny.

Do you reckon that Owen has just scuppered the Munchkins chances of an England game

-- Anonymous, February 15, 2001

You're a real "glass is half full" kind of bloke, aren't you ITK?;-)

Hey Softie.....my cup will be full to overflowing if Michael scuppers the Munchkins chances.

Any significance in the fact that as soon as Owen came off, SGE left the stadium, or was it just that he might miss the last bus if he stuck around.

The Munchkin has played like the Knacka he really is every time SGE has watched him, although none of the English forwards have been playing that well. Just watch, Big Al comes back, plays a few blinders, SGE begs him to come back to help his country qualify, Al plays against Albania and breaks his leg.

Didn't realise that Totti and Batistuta didn't play....

I'm probably a heretic around here, but I actually like Liverpool so glad they won. Much happier if they knock out Roma, who are not high on my list of favorites after they diving exhibition at SJP last season. ;-)

Watched the game last night, but we weren`t concentrating very hard. Didn`t seem all that exciting, but I was really pleased that Liverpool won. Nice to see `mighty` Roma taken down a peg or two - though not having Totti in the team probably helped. Batistuta came on very late in the game, but didn`t manage to manufacture a penalty. Still haven`t forgiven him for being such a cheating git, and every time I see him in conjures up painful memories. Gnash, gnash!!! (:o|

I'd just like to say that Totti's bit of Tottie is a real fit looking bird!!!!

Dougal, Batistuta was a 2nd half sub, and flounced around like a big girl.

Owen's opening goal was opportunistic (calm finish) and his second was well created and executed. Where the Roma defence was is anyone's guess. Poor 1st half was improved by both goals in the 2nd. Kind of pleased that after the knife carrying Italian scum had done their worst they still got beat.

Can't help wondering what would have happened had we had defensive errors fall to our crack marksman in our recent Roman encounter...

Roma were shite...and if that Nakarta (sp) blokey is a football player then I'm a quiet mouse.

LR, are you still grumpy after not getting your Valentine's Day victory shag?

;-)

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

Turns out Valentines day was for those brave men who like collecting their Red Wings......done it years ago so I didn't quite feel the need to again :)

Had a polish mind :-)

That Jap. was cak....I hope to feck we don't buy him!!!

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

LR, I actually thought Nakata's long range passing was excellent, he couldn't do much to break down liverpool when close up cos they defended really well....

Strange how you with your excellent team thinks he's shite and I was sitting at home thinking how I'd love him in my team.....did change my mind when I remembered that he'd be fucking wasted in my team cos there'd be no movement to allow him to play those long accurate passes to......fucking wankers.....

Funny old game innit...I though he was pants ...you thought he was the dog's doofers! His short game was garbage...and that's what we need. We have two guys already that can pass a ball 6 zillion yards.....Sylvestre and Bex.

BTW.......Mickey Sylvestre......The worm may be turning :-)

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

It's "Mickey" now is it instead of "Piss Poor Twat". LR I think the worm has turned right round and is facing the opposite direction.

He has looked strangely assured at times this season?

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

Without doubt he has scared the living daylights out of us many many times but The Wizard stayed with him and as such we had to also go with his judgement. He's now looking good.....which is a lot better than looking dangerous.

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

While you're on LR.

Can you confirm reports that your "Wizard" tried and failed to sign Mick Harford in 1992 and more than that he believes the inability to recruit him was the reason why ManU were pipped to the title by Leeds??!

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

I believe this IS a true story, but I think it was either Archie Knox or Brian Kidd that suggested it and The Wizard laughed.

That season was a nightmare.....let's not talk about it please :-(

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

That's not what he says in his book!

Thought he had the Gasgcoigne signing wrapped up. Thought many times about signing Beardsley. I won't comment on Shearer!

-- Anonymous, February 16, 2001

Can we belive what people write?...I suppose we should.

We didn't need Shearer anyway.......we got David May instead.

:-)
