I think that the away allocations seem to be be done fairly - the more you go - the higher up the queue.

Home tickets - they're on a loser. I just wish there was an easy way for me to get a couple of tickets a season.

Perhaps some kind of long distance ticket ? I believe Manure always ensure the remote fans get tickets - they're also the ones who spend dosh in the shop - I normally spend £20-50 twice a season (kids + me - sad but true) - 10 of me will fill one seat and make more than one season ticket holder.

Prices are high but not compared to CHelsea & Spurs - and we're better than them (one at least).

Depending on how many unsold seats they seem to average over the season, it might not be a bad idea to look into a limited ST scheme. Over here, MLS and the new WUSA(women's league) have schemes such as 1/2 season tickets, or 6 game mini-ST packages. Depending on the venue, the mini packages come in either a specified selection of games, or allow the customer to pick any 6 from a list of games. Naturally these tend to be the less popular matches. There is some type of discount over buying tickets on a game by game basis under these schemes.

I wish that they would come clean when they are offered tickets for away matches and turn them down.

We should be told why, and are not just left to assume it is because of yet another beamback, which is the norm. This situation does nothing to help exiled mags, can't get the tickets because the club turn them down, but can't get to SJP for the beamback either.

As someone who more often than not has to sit in the home end for away games I suffer as much as anyone. However, the club are offered extra away tickets but not on sale of return so as soon as any of these tickets are unsold, the club makes a loss. It's all very well the INUSA to bleat on about it but they haven't come forward and volunteered to administer the extra tickets nor underwrite the sales have they?

When was the last time they didn't sell all the away tickets ?

I'm with the beam back theory.

This season we took the full allocation from Leeds - we won ....

I don't think even the club are so shortsighted (yeah, yeah, I know - gullible owd Screach) to think that a few extra fans at a beamback is going to make up for taking fewer tickets at an away match. Yes, we have a tremendous support in Lahndaan. But Chewsee was midweek and Charlton was on the telly (how we wish it hadn't). If as D-le-F says that we are not offered (say) 3-3500 on a "Sale or Return" basis, then they could be severely out of pocket.

Let's say for example, we were offered 3500 at Chewsee, cost (approx) £30 each. Then let's say we only sold 2500. That's £30K (or almost a week of Alan Shearer's wages!) that would be wasted. AFAIK, we don't make money on selling away tickets. Why should they risk not selling them all for little or no gain. We're the bliddy Magpies, not the flippin' Philanthropists.

Now, if they were on a Sale-or-Return basis.................... that would be a lot different.

Chelsea are a good example, they have offered extra seats in the past but in large blocks and not sale or return - the club would be crazy to risk losing 30000 every away match. We, on this board are realistic enough to realise this but the popular & local press can put a spin on the story & all of a sudden the club are trying to con the fan into going to the beamback.

This beamback, does it only work in England or do you think it could get hiro and me back from Perth?

Ooops, sorry Macbeth. I probably should have put my suggestion on ST amnesty here.

Further on the suggestion of seperate pricing for posh seat only vs posh seat w/accompanying bar facility. Why couldn't the club issue some type of pass to those who've paid for access to certain bar areas? That way they can sell the empty seats but not have to worry about corporate customers getting upset at the possibility of the 'riff raff' coming into their bars. ;-)
