the club could start by stop treating the fans as idiots. more honesty, timelness and clarity urgently needed. e.g.:

the spin & hype that surrounded recent controversial issues - save our seats, fred & doug- fooled nobody and served to kill credibilty.

the prolonged silence over this season's transfer policy riled a few on this BBS. i'm still not sure that everybody gets whats going on.

the match program: i was at the manu game in december, the program reads like a soccer version of "jackie or smash hits". why not solicit some fanzine type contributions from fans or find writers & editors with a bit of imagination.

We don't need a scouser to liase with us. get rid of the patronising Rogan Taylor and ask him to take the gangster apoligist Steve Wraith with him

We should make sure we get the Sunday Sun and Thomson house, (the most powerfull local media group, by the way) to scrap this SAFC FOR NORTH TEES TO SOUTH TYNE, AND NUFC FOR NORTHUMBRIA AND FARMERS. It should be protecting the Toons interests. Why should SAFC be advertised as the main club to 65% of the North Easts population? Why should they aim to close our support in???

What happens is ths:

Most powerful local medium advertises>> Youngsters get a sense that SAFC is the main club and birth right, through advertising in newsagents, and people eventually getting a false sense of association which youngsters pick up on>> which eventually shrinks NUFC supporter base.

>>=makes and amplifies.

IT'S SERIOUSLY RIDICULOUS, THAT PLACES WHERE THE TOON HAS AT LEAST 70% TO 97% MAJORITY GET SAFC MAIN BACK PAGE ADVERTISING. PLACES LIKE JARROW AND HEBBURN IN SOUTH TYNESIDE, GATESHEAD AND MOST OF CO. DURHAM, JUST ASK ANY BORO FAN WHO LIVES IN CO. DURHAM WHO HAS THE MAJORITY.

Do you see the echo and 'Portsmouth and Sunderland' newspapers giving Newcastle massive favours? no because Freddy has not paid the editions editor.

It's important for the clubs future (fan bases) that we get advertised as the main local club in a full 60 mile radius, not a 20 miles semi circle, by being the main headline(positive and NEGATIVE) on the back page. Their is such a thing as tunnels and bridges, we can cross the tyne.

We used to get advertised in this way for 100 years until 1.5years ago. Thomson house has been a major help in making this club what it is today.

It's so unfair to the interests of the club that, they are trying to stop the club from advertising in a full radius.

P.S. if the mackems read this I bet they are going to start moaning about Thomson House. But in reality its the toon who should be worrying.

I also think the club in some way should try to get it out to the fans that the southern media, is wary of the potential that NUFC has, and will be very sly in sabotaging sales by 'suggestion,' to distrupt any chance of growing to big, by playing on the masses.

Quotes to question by Bob Murray

'I'll bring Co Durham back to Sunderland' Bob Murray. But SAFC has never been Co Durham, Bob you tosser.

'Newcastles support is closed in,' Bob Murray. Really??

The club's orificial mouthpiece on the web is a disgrace. In this day and age, many people's first impression of the club will be via te internet - especially for visiting fans and ex-pats. That being the case, I think it is imperative that a professional and up to date service is provided. Sure, let's have an online shop - after all, it will generate revenue for the club. But let's have information (not speculation - this place will do for that!) and a facility for the club to take fans questions and answer them honestly. It will take a bit of effort, and some local input - maybe even dedicated resource to provide the material, but it will be worth it in the PR and the like which is generated. As I said, the current site is a disgrace.
