powerpoint to VCD

greetings:

I'm kinda new to this area, please bear with me. I have created several powerpoint slide show presentations of wedding picture albums and I need a way to be able to distribute them to the members of the wedding party and family. Is there a way to put them on CD. I see by the postings that I must change the format to mpeg-1. HOW? I could put them on VHS tape if that is easier but I don't have an composite out on my computer. I do have a sony CDr-w and Adaptec's easy cd creator 4 deluxe (not out of the box yet) They said they could make a picture CD. But will I have redo the project or will I be able to take the ppt. into it? Also have MGI videowave111 but have not done much more than play with it. Have dazzle USB. But the little bit I got it to spit out had a green bar on the side and the resolution was horrible. Am I trying to do the impossible or just going about it in the wrong sequence. Don't have a lot of time to focus on this project that started out seemingly simple in powerpoint. Please help!

You can export your ppt-slideshows as .jpg stills. Then you can use Nero5.x or WinOnCD3.7 or 8 and as far as I know, you can also use Adatec, but I have no personal experience with that program. An complete recipe for the burning of a CD-R or CD-RW is to be seen at http://www.coyote01.freeserve.co.uk/photo_album.htm

Make sure before anything else that your DVD-player will accept home burned CD's.

Under Tools in PP export to ASF (Windows proprietary streaming format not unlike Real Media). You can get a utility for converting from ASF to MPG1 from vcdhelp.com.
