Exposed his defence, silly PRank

ARBROATH FOOTBALL Club have been left counting the cost after a midfielder’s antics forced them into a hasty cover-up.

Kevin Fotheringham was sacked after revealing just a little too much on the club’s annual calendar photograph.

Printers had to pull hundreds of calendars off the production line after team boss John Brownlie spotted the player exposing himself in the front row of the official line-up.

Staff at the Herald Press in Arbroath, who are printing the calendar for the club, had to airbrush out the indiscretion on the original image.

The player himself described it as a "silly prank," which he thought the photographer would have noticed.

However, club bosses were far from amused. They sacked Fotheringham, selling him on to Angus rivals Brechin City for a nominal fee.

President John Christison said, "There have been a number of incidents in the past involving this player and this was just the final straw."

Manager Brownlie said Fotheringham’s dimissal had been for "misconduct" rather than his playing ability.

The transfer earlier this month of the former Rangers, Hamilton and Raith Rovers player stunned fans as he was one of the most popular players at the club.

From an article in today's Racing Post regarding the choices for the next England squad ....

"Tord Grip should be able to help. He's bee sitting grim faced in Premiership grandstands for most of the season. Funny name, funny bloke. Looks all serious but then his lips twitch a lot, which kind of ruins the image of a footballing sage. Maybe he has a nervous tick, or perhaps he is just trying to suppress laughter as Warren Barton tries to clear the ball and then, having fallen in an undignified heap in doing so, adjusts his hair."

Our Warren is famous !!!!
