HOW DO I CONVERT A VIDEO TAPE TO CD AT HOME WITHOUT SENDING IT SOMEWARE qhat hardware and software do i need PLEASE RESPOND ASAP!!!

Answers

You need: 1. Video Capture card --- direct Capture to mpeg 1 or mpeg 2 (expensive - not very good) --- capture to Mjpeg (AVI) then convert to to mpeg 1 or 2 using free software such as Tmpgenc etc. ( best route but takes time to render)

2. VCD burning software: Adaptec Easy CD Creator DELUXE, Nero or WinOnCd.

You can buy a special VCD package consisting of a card and on board compressor such as from 3D for only about 150$, it will do a good job. Alternatively yoy can buy a VCD recorder such as a Terapin, no need for a PC and fidling about, plug in your VCR, put a blank disk in , press Record and voila
