Okay, stop throwing bread, you Rocky Horror fans.

Have you ever caught up with an old, lost friend? What happened?

I tried to once. After a 2-year friendship, then a 1-year silence, we exchanged emails for about a month, before he never replied to one of mine. Ah well.

Four years after I'd broken up with my high school sweetheart, and two years after I'd last seen him, I started speaking to him again. After a month of emails, and instant messenger conversations, I decided to go down and visit him (he lives several hours away) and ended up getting completely involved with him again. Not a good thing, as it turned out, though it seemed wonderful at the time. I think I'll be staying away from my old flames from now on.

I love this topic. I don't really have anything constructive to add except Asshole! Slut! (Not yet, give her twenty minutes.)

Oh wait. You asked about old friends. Erm, does Golf count? I saw him today (along with Katie) for the first time in about an eon.

Funny you should mention it. As we speak (er, I type), I'm conversing with one of my best friends from high school. After graduation, I totally ditched them (not purposely... I was having issues..), and we made up about a year later, but only really kept in contact by email or IM. Our friendships never were the same. We lost contact when she moved to Chicago for school and stuff. She's called me numerous times, but I'm a bitch and have never returned them. Right now, I'm talking to her on AIM. Sure, it's not the phone or in person, but at least we're catching up on things. I wish we were friends, instead of acquaintances (for you spelling nazis out there, yes, I fucked that up. Deal), but I don't think that'll ever happen. Sad really.

I got an e-mail back from the friend I talked about in my entry... He's in Savannah, GA, doing his grad work in Sequential Art (that's comics, to you and me).

I tried to catch up with a girl I went to school with years ago (when I was like 9 or 10. I'm 19 now). I thought it would be fun, but it was just weird. Obviously, back then, we were just kids. Now we've both grown up and we're adults. And we had nothing in common. We still exchange Xmas cards, but I think we both know that's all it'll ever be.

Okay, Jeremy. I embraced your challenge this week..and called up an ex boyfriend of mine that I hadn't talked to since last June. We go back about 7 years and still keep in touch a few times a year, but this time was an especially long period of no connectivity.

Sigh. He's still with Her. She doesn't have a ring yet, so there's still hope. :)
