Chmura?

On another thread Manders mentioned opening up the passing game to include the TE. That reminded me... I remember Chmura as being a real pain in our ass whenever we played GB. Now that he's been cut (and aquitted) what are your thoughts on signing him? I've heard rumor it's under consideration.

If Chmura comes reasonably priced (and he should come cheap after being out of the game for 2 years and all his legal troubles) we ought to go for it. We've nothing to lose at this point.

Personally I say he's guilty! Oh! were not deliberating! Actually I like the kid Johnny McWilliams and see a lot of potential there I say we keep using him and get him in the game plan even more! He's the next Glover hey! maybe the next Jordan!

I think that there are too many risks with Chmura. Don't forget he was injured prior to the whole jail situation and was likely to be released or possibly even retire. Denny has a rep of giving people second chances , but his only two successes have been draft day declines of Daunte and Randy. He has had other reaches, Underwood, Alexander (instead of Sapp) that haven't panned out, so there are more flops than successes. Going for Chmura is a disaster waiting to happen. Denny is coming off the biggest flop in NFL playoff history, with a defense that needs help. To commit one dime to a player with questionable remaining physical ability is nuts. I lived in MN for years and they are way too conservative to let that happen. Red knows it would be a PR nightmare!
