Jason Koumas

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Anyone seen this lad play? Palace are reported to be ready with a £3 mill bid for him but a lot of Premiership clubs are also interested.

Given the natural link here, i.e Hamilton playing for Tranmere, we would seem to have a good position to sign one the Nationwide's most promising young players.

Cue witty remarks about Serrant, Hamilton etc etc.

Yeh Yeh we can't get it wrong all the time! Can we?

Did anyone see Tranmere v Liverpool on Sunday?

Koumas again was oustanding in my opinion and played on the left hand side. He showed that he is two footed and had excellent balance and the ability to beat a player as well.

Coming from Aldridge's Tranmere team this lad won't be shy of the work either and if there was ever a better incentive/opportunity to offload Des Hamilton surely this has to be the one?

Didn't you find it a bit surreal that the commentary team went on and on about how John Aldridge doesn't accept anything less than 100% commitment and effort and yet they are bottom of division 1? Can't help but feel that they have got so used to cup runs that they only raise themselves for the big occasions, which is admittedly more than our lot seem capable of :-) so he'd be an improvement.

Good point Softie!

Apparently Aldo nearly resigned in the previous midweek league game because they weren't trying hard enough.

Koumas would be a successful addition to the squad in my opinion and although he may not be a natural left winger he showed he could be effective in that position. He seems to be able to cross a ball well and he was looking to beat players yesterday.

We'd play him as right wingback in case his ability to hit a ball with his left foot unbalanced our side :-(

Has he been recalled to entice Tranmere into accepting a bid for Koumas with Hamilton in exchange? Was Des the missing link in the courageous performance yesterday?

Des Hamilton has returned to Newcastle United at the end of his two month loan spell at Prenton Park. He was sidelined for the last four matches of his second loan spell after tearing a hamstring during the FA Cup Fifth Round replay against Southampton. As he was on loan at the club earlier this season, he has now used up his three month quota at Prenton Park and if he is to play for Tranmere again this season, he will have to be signed in a permanent deal before transfer deadline day later this month.

no but he is key to their league position

That's what I really like about this BBS! So many contributors with a fine blend of cynicism! A necessity if you support NUFC I suppose.

Apparently Fulham have agreed a deal which will see him move to the cottagers once Tranmere's relegation battle is decided either way. £3 million.
