Trebuchet

Not getting the show here in Australia, but being told about it yesterday it occurs to me that an ideal challange - spectacular at that would be to destroy an object at a suitable distance using all manner of catapults, mangonels or trebuchets, even a primative cannon could be made, the possibilities are endless.

Unless it has already been done...I don't know, how about it? Chris

A captapult challenge was done in the first UK series - the were throwing vegetables at a paper castle, 50 yds distance, as well in was repeated in the first US series - they were tossing at a foam- block castle. In both series a trebuchet was built (timber frame in the UK, steel frame in the US). As well, air cannons have been constructed using large diameter pipe and air compressors (that were human powered), and a mangonel was constructed in the Brit series. Cheers,
