Hi Ron Subject: Ultralight Aircraft

I think your suggestion would make an excellent JYW episode. It is not uncommon to find tubular airframes, two cycle engines and dacron in scrap yards. Weld, bolt or duct tape it together and fly your creation. Add some oil drums and make an amphibian. When the challenge is over cut the aluminum tubes in different lengths to create a chime, put the pusher power plant on a jon boat and do everglade activities. The possibilities are endless!

Airframes? We don't need no stinkin' airframes! Some ultralights around here are nothing more than modified parafoil type parachutes, with the pilot wearing a two-cycle motor and pusher prop like a back pack. Mighty tricky build, though.
