Banners and planes and prawns oh my!

From Football365:
MANCHESTER CITY have got one over their red rivals in the latest battle between the two sides, by claiming the air space above Old Trafford for their much-awaited Premiership clash on 21 April. The club's fans have reportedly paid £3,000 for the privilege of having a plane fly over the ground trailing the message "You're the pride of Singapore". United supporters had planned to hire a plane trailing the banner "25 years and still counting", but City fans found out about the stunt and got in first.

Blues fans raised the £3,000 to hire the plane and still had enough money left over to buy 3000 inflatable prawns with Roy Keane's face on them. The prawns are in response to comments made by Keane earlier this season.

"This is a great result," said Blues fan Dante Friend. "Now we just need one on the pitch. Not many people get one over on United, we realised we had to get in there first and hire the air space over Old Trafford."

Tee hee! If you can't beat 'em on the ground, go for higher stakes. Nice one City, nice one son.......

Dunno if it's true or not. I can't see city fans raising that kind of money...although they have been annoyed with our MASSIVE song, our MASSIVE phone-ins, our MASSIVE banners and the MASSIVE gap between us :-)

They've got Curly Watts as a celebrity fan....cos City are a MASSIVE club

Oi LR, you'll like this. With out a match for us on Sat and you could say they never played on Sunday; I took the opportunity of taking in a local non-league fixture.

Kettering Town versus Morecambe

Result: Kettering 1 - Morecambe 5!!

Playing for Morecambe were ex-Crewe Steve Walters and ex-Bolton David Lee (He's got no hair but we don't care Davy, Davy Lee). Lee was a class apart and gifted big John Norman up front a hat trick with amazing wing play. Through the rain and the wind, this was a thoroughly enjoyable Saturday afternoon! Carl Shutt was playing for Kettering but looked every bit the old pro he is and was very quiet. The Kettering fans were asking him during the match when he was going to take over managing the side and the Kettering supporters were stood outside the changing rooms at the end of the game shouting for the Manager to be sacked! Great stuff.<[> Chips were a bit greasy but the hot dog was good!
