Beware of the "Here you go" computer virus February 12, 2001 at 14:01:06

(Los Angeles-AP) -- Another computer virus is making the rounds, this one with the words "here you have," "here you go," or "here you are" in the subject line.

One expert says it likely came from Europe and has quickly spread to the U-S. He says it is becoming a widespread infection.

The virus operates from Microsoft Outlook, where it generates more emails from the Outlook address book using a dot-vbs file masquerading as a graphic of tennis star Anna Kournikova.

Vincent Weefer with Symantec Corporation's anti-virus center advises users delete the email immediately, to avoid spreading it further.

wow -- i got this this morning. luckily i couldn't open it because a long time ago someone posted some info here about how to disable that function in outlook. maybe someone should post it again so someone down the road will be spared. I have long forgotten what i did to disable it.

FS, are you suggesting that to admire the ‘qualities’ of Anna Kournikova would label one as a ‘pervert’? I’m in! And so are 84% of the players on the women’s tour.

Tounge planted firmly in check in my subject line-just drawing attention, as usual.

Thanks. I'd have probably fallen for that one.
