Split toning with Polytoner

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

I've tried lots of options off and on trying to get Polytoner to split tone, with no success. Fell in love with the effect when I got Linda Butler's Italy book...she indicated she used Forte polygrade warmtone with Polytoner. The Forte papers have an excellent reputation for taking toner, so am now trying with that. I've tried dilutions from about 1:10 through 1:400 and the results are similar...just takes longer for the whole thing to tone. Has anybody had success with getting it to split, or have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

John, why don't you drop Linda a line. I am sure she will be more than happy to answer your question. I don't have her URL, but I am sure you can smoke it out on a search engine.
