This 'company. is chasing me for a £14000 shortfall from when i had my house repo.d in 1996(oct) The actual shortfall is £3280.70. I got in touch wiyh the A&L back in april 1998 to find out if any money was owing after the sale of my property. They came back (through my solicitor) of the £3280.70. This money is not a shortfall on the property but for locksmiths,valuation fees,solicitors sale cost,solicitors arrears cost etc.Could someone tell me where i stand with this debt, or who is this company how much clout have they got. Better still why the A&L never got chased me for this debt through my solicitor.

address registered company number directors, if named name of staff that signed the letter

All of this should be on the letterhead or the foot of the letter.

This one rings a bell..they were buried on one of the junk mailing's I got (Lee...if you remember the odd circumstance there!) National Credit Investigations who are skip tracers methinks. They have branches all over, including my part of the world. Gulp.

NCI Euro have now as I understand it ceased trading but JDL Holdings have the same two directors listed at the same address and will probably continue to harass you, tell them to go forth and multiply!!

My advice is cut them out of the loop and deal directly with the lender. It's the old 'Organ Grinder / Monkey' routine again. Request copies of invoices for all the items you have mentioned and if they are unable to produce these reduce their claim accordingly.
