But it does keep the team fresh for when they play 'tired' teams like Charlton who played on Wednesday night. Charlton looked knackered didn't they, especially that Scott Parker who hardly covered any ground at all. Their two forwards also looked a little jaded and gave our defence an easy afternoon.

Imagine what will be going through their minds next time (a) They play in London ... If we lose it's OK , I'll make an apology and put it down to the London Hoodoo and anyway, I'll still be playing in the next game ,( and B)Next year in the FA cup , if they win they have extra games to play in the middle of winter , If they lose , they get to go to Spain on a holiday.

Players are being rewarded for failure here. That sorry performance at Villa Park has earned the team a weeks mid-winter break in Spain, the kind of thing most of our fans have to work damn hard all year for. How can that be right?
