Letter from YBR and letter to Freddy re flags and matchdaygreenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread |
I have finally got a response to the letter to Bobby, thanking us for our support, saying that things had been tough with injuries etc but that the lads were working hard and were as anxious as us for success and that he didn't think the nasty mail was from Toon fans. Will post full letter later as I'm up to me oxters with work just at present. Also, I've drafted a letter to Freddy Shepherd, copied to YBR nad some first team players about match day atmosphere and the fireproof flags, asking for their support. If anyone wants to put their paw print to the letter, please can they sign this thread, saying which stand they sit in. Ta.

Thanks, Ciara. The letter to FS mainly just says that the club may not be aware that you can you can buy fireproof banners blah blah and ho wdo they feel about my procuring one for the Gallowgate in the hope that they'll take off elsewhere. I also mention the concerns about matchday atmopshere and talk about the Tier Two Commandos initiative, saying that we don't necessarily subscribe to so aggressive a policy but we do like the fact that the club is giving some support to the idea of finmding out where like-minded people sit etc and that Peter Kenyon sat in the Stretford blah blah.

Pathetic "Me, too" Dougal on the paw-print front. I LOVE the idea of all the passion being concentrated in one area...er, if you get my drift.Well done for getting proactive. You don't ask etc...
If this one doesn't work, we could send another and another and another and another and.....
val.

I should maybe explain that all I want to do is impress on the club how many of us want to go and participate rather than spectate and ask the club for support in exploring ways that we can turn SJP into a seething cauldron of white hot passion again. Or summat. I have made a schedule of all your suggestions so that the club can see that we are trying to be as postive as possible and that it's not an anti- Club thing but a pro-Newcastle, one city, one team, one love kind of thing. I'm really prepared to put in some leg work on this and I'm dead grateful to those of you who are offering your support. I also quite understand those of you who don't subscribe to these views and who think it's a waste of time.

Just thought of something re: flags. Where would they be put up? Bearing in mind they might not be likely to agree to something passing over people's heads that could block views. Someone would inevitably complain. If it were banners to be hung, where would they go? I honestly haven't paid attention to the advertising(a good argument as to why it wouldn't matter if we covered em up anyway! ;-)) ), so can't remember if there's placards around the facings of the stands at pitch level. I know there's signs in front of the corporate boxes.

To the facia at the back and front of each tier.

I bow to your superior knowledge Dougal. Sorry for ever doubting it. I'd just read the Ronnie and it had Freddie. However, .COM and the orificial s*ite spelled it your way, they spelled it yo_ur way. (See, I'm getting onto this singing mullarky.) So you must be right. Can't read everything you believe in the papers, eh? ;-)
