I need to know if Toshiba 2108 will play VCD. on this site it says that toshiba models older than 2100 will not play...but i don't understand the number system. is my 2108 older than a 2100? Thanx

Perhaps a more pressing concern is for you to find out if your Toshiba will read CD-R/RW media. I suspect it won't.

My Toshiba 2109 DVD player doesn't work... can't read any CD-R - audio or VCD. I burned a VCD from my digital camcorder and it plays fine using PC VCD players, but won't start at all on my Toshiba 2109.

Look at the lineup of DVD players at toshiba.com... they'll mention VCD capability if they have it.
