I must have dreamed this. It can't be real.

Did I dream this, or am I just the only one who notices?

In the past few weeks, the minority-elected, barely legitimate (if that) George W. Bush administration has:

- Rescinded funding for family planning clinics if they dare to mention the existance or availability of abortion - a legal procedure.

- Gone on record as wanting to find a way to renege on the FDA approval of RU-486 - a safe drug.

- Geared up to get approval of drilling for oil in the Artic Wildlife Preserve, citing (of all things) the electricity shortage in the Western states as justification - and yet they have proudly and loudly promised to do nothing to alleviate that shortage. Can anyone say "contradiction"?

- Dumped several important campaign promises, such as increasing military spending and pulling US troops out of the Balkans, as if those promises were so much stale garbage to be put at the curb.

- Launched, with much fanfare, an office of "faith-based" government handouts that will give away billions in tax money to churchs with no apparent guidelines or safeguards to prevent that money from being misused to promote particular religions.

- Announced a weakening of food safety rules, favoring corporate profits over public health.

- Made boisterous threats to Iraq, backed by the release of millions of dollars to openly undermine that regime.

- Announced their desire to impose further strict federal rules that say how local schools must be run.

And what has been filling up the news and editorial pages of the "liberal" press?

- Complaints that the Clinton administration removed "W" keys from a few computers and left some humorous signs on office doors. (The original stories of widespread vandalism have vanished for the lack of a shred of evidence.)

- Complaints that the Clintons took more than $150,000 worth of gifts with them, while not mentioning the amount the Bushes or Reagans took.

- Complaints that Clinton's NY office space cost over $650,000, while failing to make clear that Clinton was only billing the government for the same amount as the Reagan offices, while absorbing the rest of the cost through private donations.

That "liberal" press sure has a weird set of priorities, that's all I can say.

The so called "liberal press" has been all over Clinton's ass since he was first elected, and even after he left office it's still going, and going, and going. It will always be a liberal press to paranoid whacko whiners like Uncle Boob because they don't suffer from the same delusions, thinking that Dumb Fuckya is some kind of hero.

Hey ya missed the one about GW ending what the FERC is required to do, not allow unreasonable and injurious wholesale electric rates. I guess GW thinks it just fine to allow his pals from Enron to charge 50centavos for energy they produce for 5centavos. Besides, what better way to get them Liberals than by milking them dry thru their electrical gizmos. Apparently GW thinks nothing of risking the entire American economy in the process, what a guy!
