A Surry County woman has died from meningitis.
Oficials at the county health department confirmed that Patricia Cokerhan, 30, died of bacterial meningitis Friday afternoon.
That case is the fifth confirmed meningitis case in the Piedmont area in the past few months.
Last month a 17-year-old Southeast Guilford student died from the disease.
