i think it would be a chanange if the teams had to build a sailboat that the two teams race on a lake. any comments?

I believe they did that once on an older show b4 George. The one sail boat had no spunk because the designer decided to use two sails (in parallel)instead of one. Hence the one sail cancelled the other out and slowed them down. Had there been more distance between the sails they might have had a chance. The other boat, a simple one-sail, blew them away (no pun intended)

they did do a sailboat thingy before, but it was a land yacht, my idea would have the teams build a sailboat that would go into the water, and one of the team members would have to sail it around a course.

Yeah twin hulls vs monohull. Would be neat to see how close to the wind a van roof would point.
