From the Ronnie: Don Hutchison was furious after picking up his tenth booking of the season at the weekend. The caution means the Scottish international will now have to sit out Sunderland's FA Cup fifth-round tie against his former club West Ham later this month.

Midfielder Hutchison was booked for a foul in the first half of Sunderland's 1-0 defeat at Derby on Saturday, taking his tally of yellow cards for the season into double figures and earning him a two-match ban in the process.

He joins Michael Gray and Alex Rae, who were both sent off against Manchester United last week, on the suspended list for the games against West Ham and Leicester later this month.

Hutch was bitching in the Journal that he only made one tackle in the Derby game and got booked for it. He clearly hasn't figured out yet that it only takes one filthy, shin high tackle to attract a yellow or possibly even a red card.

Oh oh. I see the Mackems slip-sliding away down the league while their "starts" are suspended. Squad? What squad?
