Roller coaster with a loopgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread |
Have each team build a simple, gravity-powered roller coaster that includes a single loop or inversion of some sort. The competition aspect would include having each team member ride the coaster (which takes weight differences into account in construction) and resetting the ride, making sure it had to be repeatable and easy to reset for the next team member.

Hi Andy, I looked thru the new challenge idea faq like you're supposed to....and found this>>>>>It was mentioned about a month or two ago>>>> >>>Would anyone have thought of a mobile "thing" to go around a loop the loop in the shortest time? Of course, it could'nt be manned by anyone and it would have to be a certain size. Pretty good idea for a 12 year old, wouldnt ya say?

Hi Jared, Duane here...Team Captain for "Art Attack" ( we'll be on Junkyard at 10pm tonight.) You must have a hot wheels set. I use to set one up in my house when I was a kid to see how far I could get it to go on just gravity. That's a good idea! Each team could have a certain weight that they had to build the machine under. Then let the machine roll down a course toward a loop de loop. Kind of like unmanned pine box derby but bigger.
