I would like to know if someone is able to give me is appreciation on the Canon 500mm f8 reflex. I have found a used one and prepare to buy it. How sharp is this lens. Anybody know a test report on the web. Thanks

IMHO, the Canon FD 500/8.0 lens is a very good lens - with all of the usual caveats about mirror lenses. See my web page: http://www.kjsl. com/~dave/owls/comparison.html. Note the out-of-focus "bokeh" from the mirror lens compared to a refractive lens.
