Test the new Oread web page -- what does it need to make it better?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

I spent a few minutes redesigning and updating the Oread web page. I'd like some feedback. What does it need to make it better? Is it better than the old Oread page? Take a look and post your comments or send them directly to me. The new version is at:

The old Oread page is at:

like the clean look, though I didn't have any trouble with the old page. Hope everyone (within driving distance)can make it to the Tall Oaks meet tomorrow.

I like the new format, especially the menus on the side. The old page was harder to follow; the links on the new page allow you to go right where you want to go. Fewer words to read is nicer. Good job!

I think the new look is elegant simplicity, and yet oddly delimiting, with the soothing texture of a freshly baked New York city soft pretzel. But where are the earthy tones we have come to associate with Kansas orienteering, and the spiny punctuatedness displaced Kansans need to remind them of their beloved thorn infestations?

I added a few more links to the new page -- a couple of translated articles, the test loop, the 96 Short Champs analysis and Winter in Yellowstone. The new page is now the official Oread page. You can still look at the old page at www.geocities.com/okansas.geo/oldindex.html.

I am still interested in getting feedback on the new Oread page. What does it need to make it better?
