I mean what is the point? It takes ages to type a message in and you could have phoned them and said the same in half the time (except obviously you'd then spend an hour talking about other subjects so I can see something in it). Email even better. Still, apparently everyone's doing it so I don't want to be left behind by this modern trend.

Serious question. Can you get keyboards for mobile phones? That would make life a lot easier.

LOL! If you find one, let me know. Text messaging is fun, but a right pain in the fingers and impossible for me to do during a match cause I spend more time trying to find the right letter than watching the match. Does give you somthing to do while queuing for the ladies or the food/beer however. ;-)

same as e mailing realy, why bother when you can phone them?

daftest thing I've coeme accross recently is our new German Neighbours. She's calle Silka and she E mails wor lass every night. WHY? She could ring her up, or easier still knock on the door if she wants to have a chat.

IM? I'd hazzard a guess atInstant Messaging. Could be wrong, but it's as good a bet as my TeamPick will be for Sunday.

Text Messaging can be very useful. My office phone has an answer service, but when a VoiceMail is left, it sends me a text message to alert me. Also, when I was in the US recently, my mobile doesn't work over there, but as I have a Genie account, I can log on to the Internet and send text messages from there to folks in UK (and the rest of the civilised world who use the same cellphone technology as us).

There's more, and believe me, there's a lot more to come. E-mail on yer phone. Sounds (no, not really "sounds") great. My problem isn't the same as yours Jonno (is anybody's?. No, I can manage the keys, tho I have to admit, I've heard about Gav's prowess previously. My problem is the bliddy screen. I can't see the bliddy thing. Once, in the Straabeery, I had to hand the phone to somebody else to read out what a message said. Thankfully, it wasn't from any of you lot! What I'd like is a lightweight full-sized monitor. Tht wud mk txtng vry gd 4 me.

Yep, IM is Instant Messaging via computer. It's a way to have a one to one conversation in real time instead of using email. And easier than having to fire up a full size chat program. So it's far less bandwidth intensive.
