One Song That Makes You Feel GOOD

I actually have one that I consider my anthem... as corny as that may sound. Sort of like Ally's theme song I guess. "Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty. That song makes me feel like I could outrun speeding bullets and do anything I put my mind to. Do you have a song that affects you like that?

A hymn, "How Great Thou Art," sung by a deep voiced strong singer, for instance, one like George Beverly Shea used to be, so majestic and inspiring. A piece not vocal but glorious in its inspiring self is Bach's "Ode To Joy," played on the grand organ by an accomplihed organist helps my spirit rise to the heavens also.

One of my all-time favorites - "In My Life" by the Beatles. This song always gives me the warm fuzzies.

This is going to sound soooo lame, and it is not an "anthem" for me, but that song "Flashdance, What a Feeling" always makes me feel kind of cheerful. It reminds me of my old days of auditioning for wedding bands....

My anthems for the last few years have been "Avalanche" and "Ruby Red" by Heather Nova. Both of them are about always wanting to do something brilliant with your life and being afraid to do it. A few lines from "Avalanche" that I love the best:

There's a road that leads away from here and every day I stand in place and I watch it disappear. There's a bird that circles in my mind. Security's the whore in me that never lets me fly.

How about It's A Good Feeling To Know by Poco? I know I'm an old hippie but everytime I hear this song it makes me smile. How nice to hear words like "somebody loves you..." instead of rage and die and kill. Old hippies die hard, though, you know. :)
