Friday question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

So what are you all doing? I'm going out with the girls from the office ce soir, working tomorrow (I think) and coming to the Golden City for the match on Sunday. If I don't have to work, I may come home this evening and join Steph at the training ground tomorrow. Very much hoping to see Baby Robert and his mam and dad, too.

Oh, and going to the game on Sunday. After me couple of weeks in the Leazes, I can't wait to get back to my lovely seat in the Gallowgate. Have even missed the bloke next to me (not Jonno, although I have missed Jonno, the bloke on the other side who asked why we were singing about monkeys when the SMB visited).

Dougal, you're making me feel bad! First it's jibes about seats for suits and now nostalgia for the Gallowgate End after two weeks. Thank you very much for agreeing to swap while I was away - and it was much appreciated - but I promise I won't ask again! Just so long as you come to the Strawbeery beforehand so I can get my ticket back please...

Y'all have a good weekend now. Leading such an exciting life, I thought I might have a haircut, which should while away ooh say five minutes on Saturday...

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Bill - I was delighted to sit somewhere new! It's just that I am sentimental about things :)) Yeah, will be in Strawberry to give you your ticket back. I must remember your programmes and things too.

I shall be spending this weekend mostly drinking, eating and watching telly. Yes that's right none of this 'quality time' bollocks.

Friday night is out for a bellyful of fizzy followed by a curry served up by our friends at Merlins!

Saturday I may help a friend move house but that depends on how good Friday was. TV in afternoon for Six Nations Champonship, yup egg chasing live on TV!

Sunday, hopefully golf followed by footie then down the pub to kiss goodbye to the weekend.

Off to Toonside tonight after work (well, mebbes this afternoon!). Talking to double glazing salesmen Saturday to stop 'em bothering me Ma and off to SJP (via The Straabeery) on Sunday. If there's time, may even visit a few estate agents.

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Dougal - please don't worry about the programmes and stuff. They are yours if you want them. I don't collect them anyway - it's bad luck you know.

Decided it's time for a Clint-in:

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
Fistfull of Dollars
For a Few Dollars More

Looking forward to Sunday. Won't watch the Rugby on principle: it's all very well slinking back to the BBC with their tails between their legs but I shan't watch the arrogant gobsh*tes....well maybe just leave it on in the corner of the room, but I won't actually be watching it at all...;-)

Tonight, bit of shopping and errands after work. Tomorrow, work on my website a bit, then supposedly out with a friend and a bunch of her co-workers to see Shadow of the Vampire then off to a Baltimore brew pub. I say supposedly cause she's been sick alot recently so may have to cancel last minute. Sunday, settling down in front of my telly to cheer on the lads. :-)

Steph, I do have your mobile number but can't find mine at present! However, I will call you if I get up there. Also, Stu is going to the training ground tomorrow.

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

OK, will look out for Stu and probably see you Sunday.

Out car hunting on Saturday - definately need to find something which does more that 17 miles to the gallon!

Up early Sunday, get my daily chores out of the way, prepare the dinner early. With precision timing I will throw a hearty lamb stew in the oven, before sitting down with a large glass of red wine for the Fulham appetizer.

Just enough time to top up my glass before the main event - then all hell will let loose as Yelli and I watch our boys totally twonk Southampton!!!(:o)

I'm just packing me bag and off to the airport in a couple of hours, heading to Laahndaahn for a week. Meeting some of the BBS'ers at Evergreens for the match on Sunday. Really looking forward to that.

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Lamb stew!!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Galaxy do you do mail order meals?

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

No mail order DeBuilder - but I always make twice as much as I need. For this Sunday`s creation I shall be using good chunky lamb shanks, shallots and really meaty shitake mushrooms (for flavour). Served with caramelised carrots, buttered cabbage, roast AND mashed potatoes (mashed with some lightly fried chopped spring onions and creme fraiche). Instead of the usual `yorkshires`, I think I shall make some big, fat, crispy, crunchy croutons! How does that sound? (:o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

BTW any requests for pudding? (;o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Galaxy - why didn't we meet 30 years ago?

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Ah-ha! Got your tastebuds going too eh Jonno!? (;o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Pete, have a wonderful trip - I shall be sorry not to meet you - I`ll be slaving over a hot stove (see above)! How long are you here for? And are you likely to be back again at any time?

Anyway, have a great time and a safe journey!(:o)

I have been off me food this past fortnight owing to some medication I'm taking but I'm now starving. Can I come too Galaxy? For pudding, I want rice pudding with sultanas and real cinnamon in it.

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

My rice pudding `special` comes with a sticky meringue topping - will that do? (;o)

Pleased to hear it made you feel hungry though - you young ladies just don`t eat enough! (:o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Yum, meringue on top will do! Actually, it's been rather nice not having an appetite - kick started the diet!

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Don`t go mad with the dieting though Dougal - it`s not good for you! I try to be reasonably careful throught the week, but I don`t sweat about it at the weekends. No fun in going out for dinner on Saturday night and worrying about what I`m eating. And I won`t ruin Sunday dinner for the sake of a knob of butter, or a dollop of cream!(:o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Galaxy, I'm only there a week, hoping to make a trip North in midweek though nothing definite. Next time who knows, maybe I'll head to the south coast next time. I hear the food is great ;-)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Sounds very Ready, Steady, Cook to me Gal! Also sounds delicious mind.

Look out for me on't telly won't ya? I'll be the blerk at the back of the East Stand, halfway line, beside the ladder to the TV gantry - dinner suit, black bow-tie, moustache, looks a 'bit' like Pierce Brosnan, Bovril in hand; shaken, not stirred - of course! You know, that blerk with the vivid imagination.

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Pete you would be a very welcome guest, whenever you can make it! Give my love to the Golden City!(:o)

Clarky - don`t worry, Yelli and I always give ourselves eyestrain scouring the crowd for familiar faces. Nearly fell off our chairs the other week when we got the very clear shot of Sting! Anyway, we be looking for you! (Even if you are opting for the `bovril` rather than the `martini, shaken, not stirred`!(;o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Galaxy - I've not really got much planned for Sunday and your suggestion that there's always lots to spare (so to speak, I hope!) makes me think I should just turn the car roond (having just landed in Blyth) and drive down to Fumblebuck instead. That way, I could have a hearty meal and take the p!ss oot o' the Soton supporters when they've been tonked. Deal??

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

What time you heading dwon to the Riverside tomorrow, Screacher? Might join you for an hour.

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Of course you`re welcome Screacher - but, hard as we try, we can`t compete with the atmosphere at St.James`s - I know which I would choose!(:o)

-- Anonymous, February 02, 2001

Ooh, decisions, decisions. Riverside, chunky lamb shanks (is that a euphomism or just rhyming slang??). I reckon you just persuaded me to go to SJP Gal - sorry to Pete and Yelli. Clarky - sent you an e-mail. I think it's been cancelled - well, don't want you going and getting inside info for the TeamPick. 11ish (it's close to Beamish!)
