Are there any routes on El Capitan that go free under 5.11a ? I'm talking about top to bottom, 20 to 30 pitch climbs. same question for Washingtons Column. less pitches of course. thanks,

No. East Buttress is 5.10b, but generally not considered "top to bottom". The easiest would be West Face, 5.11b with 20 pitches.
