Time Zero photos seem to set too quick

greenspun.com : LUSENET : polaroid transfers : One Thread

I recently purchased an sx70 camera to try the Polaroid manipulation. I'm using Time Zero film. After shooting the picture I tried to manipulate the images, but it seemed as if the picture started setting too soon - like right away. I've heard people say you have several minutes, but I less than a minute and I felt like I was just scratching the picture. Any ideas? What am I doing wrong? Any other tips to help me? Thanks very much.

maybe it's not warm enough?

Check the expiration date on the box. I recently bought Time Zero film at a local drug store and was unable to manipulate it at all, even after warming it. It was 2 months past the expiration date. Since this film is being phased out at Walmarts and drug stores (at least in my area), what is left on the shelves might be old stock. I am going to buy it at Calumet or mail order it from B+H from now on.
