Chelsea match tread.....lets start !

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

How will we line up ?

Do we have a chance to get a point ? Chelsea havent lost at home for awhile and they winning away aswell.

How do we do it, lets face it Leeds is not playing very well at the moment, so I think Chelsea will be a tough fight for a point.

Evening Vatos - I fancy us to not lose tonight, but winning might be a stretch. I'll go for 1-1, which would be very satisfactory - provided we win on Sunday.

ps: I'm trying to figure out where the ".dk" extension is - not Denmark is it?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

I'm sorry but i can only see disappointment. Lets be really honest, this is not our night , is it?

2-0 if we are lucky.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

It is Denmark !!!!!

Jeg er pære dansk Newcastle fan !

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

sorry for being so doom like , but thats how i see it.

a win tonight and sunday and things could look very rosy, however...

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Is this the line up ?
Given
Barton..Hughes..Goma..Quinn
Solano..Acuña..Lee..Speed
Dyer..Amoebi

hopes my html is right !

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Evening to some, Afternoon to others, morning to others (still) I just don't see us losing tonight, 10 days rest will have done us the world of good. We are due dammit, tis bout time we won in the smoke.

Is it on the radio?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Another doom and gloom voice here. can't see us winning. Chelsea are too good at home, we never win in London and the ref will probably play a blinder.

Right now I'd be very happy to take a draw. :-)

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

god it seems like an eternity since our last match....hard to see us trying to "keep the momentum" going, but I'm good for 1-1 today YKD scores on a brill solo run to equalize... Poyet (who else) scores for the buns.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

I think we'll lose 6 - 1, I'll be quite happy if we can keep it down to less than a four goal win . Also hope that our friends down in Sunderland can beat Manchester United.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Is it on the radio?

There's no radio coverage on Radio 5 Live, they doing the match from Le Stade de Merde (Turd v First as was said on R5L this morning) - but there will not doubt be a webcast on Metro.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

We'll get trounced.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

I'm not confident of a win. A 1-1 draw would be fantastic, but in all honestly I wouldn't be surprised at a 3-1 defeat.

I can see us scoring tonight though. When exactly is the key. Early on - we'll lose it. Second half - we've got a chance.

I'm more bothered about the Mackems getting whipped.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Bassedas and Goma booked. Ref seems to be in need of arm raising exercises. I think the dwarf also got booked.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Howay me Bonnie Lads. Prove me wrong!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

GANNIN ALONG THE SCOTSWOOD ROAD...... ta see Peter & the test tube babies at the Robin Adaire!!!

hmm still no sound?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Is Shearer on the bench? Joke!

Time to bring on Luax2 and Griffin to mix things up a bit. Bassedas off so Dyer can play behind Luax2 and Ameobi, may as well lose 3-1 going for it than playing out a 2-1 defeat.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Phillips limping badly, but they've used their 3 subs, and are down to 9 men already, tee hee

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

webcast's back.....'bout time.

HOWAY LADS!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

PRAY FOR RAIN RICK.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Got the sound back and...the result is KILLING ME!!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Shame that we didn't play Sunderland in two or three weeks, they would have half their team out of the picture.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Griffin and Luax2 on. Barton and Bassedas off.

Roy Keane to finish off the munchkin. heh.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

oops...as in that's what we should do...nto what's actually happening. Sorry for any confusion folks.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Oh thank God, Min! Every time the Chewsee announcer mentions Hughes, he's saying "Air-On" and I keep thinking of Dougal's Aarondite. It's most distracting.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Dyer has sounded as if he's been suffering from an Injury, I would take him and Speed off, Lua up front and Griffin to left wing.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

We doesnt sound like scoring !!!!!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Quinn not getting forward at all, Barton far more positive, better start motoring or he'll not get kept on

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

So It's Danny Boy on for ?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Dyer and Shola off, Corblimey and Lua x2 on

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Cordone and Luax2 on, Dyer and Ameobi off. Well, I did say we were going to lose. PROVE ME WRONG!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Dyer and Shola off for LuaLua and Cordone.

Rik predicts, 4 - 1 to them .... off for the seventh bottle, 'm not a happy chappy

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Grønkjær, TWAT

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Lua 2 for Shola, Cordone on as well

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Shit. Gronkjaer scores

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Radio 5 announce a goal 30 seconds before the webcast

3-1

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

well...I'M DEAD!!! Bye all...

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

SKY reports that ' the Newcastle midfield look a spent force with Speed and Bassedas looking tired'

Thought it was Chelsea who played on Sunday not us

now 3-1 and 23 games in the Smog

bah

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

KIN' HELL MAN, why is it London?

No club in London is bigger than the toon.

It's like oxford beating wolves every time etc

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

I can feel a tonking coming on. Please God, don't let the Mackems score.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Sven might as well go home now that Shola and Dyer are off. Are their any English players left?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

SING WHEN YOU'RE WINNING, YOU ONLY SING WHEN YOU'RE WINNING!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Big hill to climb now, only really a draw to play for, which can be done.

Chelsea fans suddenly make themselves heard, crap fans!

Defence needs a bit of working on.

Southampton winning away at Leicester!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Sorry Southampton are at home.

Commentator has a point about us trying to hold a game. We are far better when it is a bit frantic.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Hello folks. Can you update me? Has anyone played well for the Toon?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Haway the lads

Annnnnn NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNn n

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Was LKD injured? What about Shola. I thought the m/f were supposed to be weak. Any other changes??

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

"too cautious" in teh 2nd half. WHY? It will be interesting to hear from those who are at the match as to what happened. Sounded like we were doing well in the first half. Did someone drop sleeping pills into the players' tea at HT?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

So, are our defence just playing crap?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

No Steamer, we are playing like a pile of shite.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

AND A WUBBLE U C...

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Chelsea qill go above us. Anybody else??

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

It's in their heads, that they can't win in London. Still I said that I wouldn't critisie them till after the Southampton game.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Is Solano actually playing? Get rid of Goma and Hughes and buy a couple of decent defenders.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

I think Robson will rue the decision to play Barton instead of Griffin.

Disappointing thing is that Grffin could probably have snuffed him out and we wouldn't be streched so much. At least it is obvious.

Never mind a loss tonight means a win at the weekend!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Gawd. Chelsea takin the p*ss now. :-/

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa an an sssssssssssssssssssss an a T L E.......

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

As long as the Makems lose at home, I'll not be too unhappy.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Cmon Nobby...pull one back for us!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

It would be encouraging if Cordone or LuaLua could get a late goal.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Off Wise's mug.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Tougher match than it looked with Chelsea in bouyant mood recently, they have a great squad of players and now they seem to be playing well.

It exposes the depth of our squad which may not be a bad thing.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

As long as Leicester lose, we only drop to 7th. CMON SOUTHAMPTON!!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

10 days time in London the JINX will be broken, I'll put money on it.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Munchkin missed a sitter - whew!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

see new thread

Any side that cannot keep a clean sheet for 22 games is likey to carry on losing to most sides in London.Charlton included next week.

No bogey or bad luck. Rank bad defending/bad play

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Is anyone having a decent game at all? Please, just one player as a beacon of hope...

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Only the charlton game left to go to in London eh??

The sooner this area is flooded the better.

Come on global warming.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Time anyone?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Oi Dougal, you're at SB.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Ah well. it's what we expected, I'm not too disapointed.Reckon we'll hammer Southampton on Saturday, then go on a great unbeaten run.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Oh, I knew this was going to happen. I always know when we are going to lose. We need to knock the club down and buy another one.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

ManUre under pressure

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Were we trounced, tonked or just stuffed??

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Were we trounced, tonked or just stuffed??

Makems lost - yee hah!!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Agree with Rik (which is a worry) have a set of tidy fixtures coming up .... maybe win 2 off the belt

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

No where never going to win another game ever again.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

We wont beat southampton because Glen Hoddle is a better tactitian than Bobby Robson.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Dont you wish you enjoyed your football as much as me.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

So we lost in london again, what else is new? Is there a team hypnotist? Does he have a work permit?

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Bad result tonight, but you can't say it wasn't expected. We've got to start to play football after we score instead of defending too deep.

We should beat Southampton on Sunday, but the Mackems score as well as their sendings off made me smile for a bit. The suspensions will hit them hard and I also noticed that the Munchkin didn't score again - anything to do with Quinn getting injured early on?

Sleep well...hopefully. We've got to make some noise on Sunday and make it like a proper home game with a big atmosphere.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

Sorry dougal but have to disagree - Hoddle has done well at Southampton but IMHO doesn't have the tactical nuances that YBR shows every week !!

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

No everything about Newcastle is crap. Its' no good - guess who I really am.

-- Anonymous, January 31, 2001

EFF OFF! (Sorry, Gav, I know you hate shouting on here). I predicted we'd win and I can also spell "tactician".
