challange: Battleships

Battleships ? No I'm not that crazy. There exists a large hobby of R/C combat ship builders/ battlers. This fact provides a ready group of "experts". As Weird as it sounds though I don't think an R/C ship could be built in 10 hours. I belive a crewed boat is do-able. No ship to ship fighting here just shore bombardment, at point value targets for score.Thats what most Battleships did for real anyway.Speed could act as a tie breaker. Guns? Well there are numerous types of CO2 powered guns made for RCC. Between Big guns large cannons and MWCs numerous cannon types there is something for everyone. There also exists an electric powered BB gun that could be scaled up to throw a 1/4 in ball bearing at say... 600fps.You could Build it with a short peice of large Dia pipe and a weedeater/leafblower motor. Heck you could allways build the ol-Spud Gun!! Cannon types would simply depend on projectal type and distance to be shot from. Hull forms could vary also. Think back to the "rescue boat" show. A flat bottom boat could get much closer to a shore based target to get hit from a CO2 cannon powered out of an old fire bottle. This would use lower volocity/higher accuracy/close range to win. The displacement hull would have a speedy hull, the higher volocity weedeater gun and be shot from a gerater distance but would then speed to the finsh line in a shorter time. Safety considerations must be met. Cannons should be limited to each end of the boat and phisicly prevented from pointing back into the boat. CO2 can freeze flesh on venting (not to mention the sound!!) so good fittings are really needed. I think it could be done safe, different and be fun to watch. Ideals, variations?
