VCD Player Playback Not as Good as Laptop Playback

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I've recently started burning VCD's with Nero 5.0.3.8 and have found that they play really well on my laptop but not so well on my VCD Player. On the VCD Player (Phillips AZ 9898), the playback tends to be bumpy with the sound dropping out occasionally. I'm not sure why this is since nearly all the pre-recorded VCD's I buy tend to play better on the VCD Player than on my laptop. Does anyone know why this is and what I can do to rectify the problem? Thank you.

You can start by using something other than that Nero to author your VCDs with and see how they play. Try kitschy Easy CD or WinOnCD, that latter if you can get it. I hear some nasty things from users being mentioned about that version of Nero, like, it hangs during installation, etc.
