Answers

Most of the women that Edgar Allan Poe wrote about were the ones that he encountered in his life. Several were fashioned after his mother that he did not know, and his aunt and best friend's mother that he had loved. Not to mention, his cousin Virginia that he later married. Poe was obsessed with the older women in his life that influnced him the most.
