The TV Guide Awards nominations were announced, and ER received four, as follows:

Anthony Edwards: Actor of the Year in a Drama Series Noah Wyle: Supporting Actor of the Year in a Drama Series Maura Tierney: Supporting Actress of the Year in a Drama Series ER: Drama Series of the Year

Yes! I'm happy with all of the people who got the final cut. I feel sorry for Goran, Eriq, and Laura though. Hopefully those that were nominated will be at the award show. Noah and Anthony haven't been at any award shows since last year. But I'm very happy about this.

IIRC, the recipients of the TV Guide awards are actually notified ahead of time that they've won, so that will probably factor into their decision to attend. I'd like to see them all win/attend! :)

How does the TV guide america awards work in America? Does it depend on the amount of viewers? Who chosses who wins?

There are a lot of things called "TV guides" in the U.S. Usually a "tv guide" comes with your local Sunday paper and lists all the local network channels and most of the basic cable channels that you get locally. (sometimes your cable provider will "provide" a "tv guide" with your cable subscription, for an extra fee of course!)

The TV Guide that conducts the TV Guide awards is a national magazine, with editions for the various regions (networks have different channels depending on where you live. But you probably knew this.) You can buy TV Guide at the supermarket or you can subscribe to it.

ANYWAY... TV Guide conducts a survey of its readers annually. The ballot is in the magazine (I think). This is how the TV Guide awards are tallied.
