Chelsea: we've only got 1000 tickets!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Apparently, either NUFC only asked for a thousand or Chelsea only gave us a thousand on the basis that it's a midweek game. For feck's sake, we filled out WHL on 2 January so I'm bliddy sure we could fill out Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Furthermore, I'm told that the same is true of the Charlton game because it's on SKY. Absolutely disgraceful. There are people begging for tickets for these games...

Not to mention 2500 or so that managed to get to the midweek replay at Villa with only a week's notice

I got an E Mail at the beginning of last week from a lad in the office here who is a Charlton supporter and he was asking why the Toon had only taken 1,050 of their allocation for the match and wa sit because it was on Sky.

I suggested that it was probably because it was on the tele, and that it was also a god awful journey to get back to the GC....out of south east London and then on GNER (the worst affected line) and still getting back at a reasonable time for work the next day.

He reckoned that Charlton offered us 5,000 tickets, and I reckon just the London/South East based Mags could have acounted for the allocation taken.

Why do the club keep putting this kind of PR fiasco forward!

Well, to be honest ITK, I suspect CFC aren't going to fill the ground either. So, they will probably have a buffer line between the Toon Army and the home lot. Might just be worth any Mags interested in going giving CFC Ticket Orifice a ring. Dunno 'boot Chewsee mind.

This makes me so mad....1000 tickets for feck's sake. Is Clarky around and does he fancy letting his contacts at the club know what we think of this? The lads need our support now more than ever.

You got a ticket for either Dougal? Will the Bridge be full? The Valley won't.

I certainly won't be going to Chelsea.....I refuse point blank to put ANY of my hard earned money into the coffers of that bearded tw@t Bates......he can go friggin hang himself.

Last time I went to Charlton on a Sunday by public transport (and this was when it was running a damn sight better than it is at the moment) it took me about three and a half hours to get there and I misjudged it and missed the first half as a result......I'll tell you, the place might be in the same city but it would be a bloody site quicker and easier to get to Birmingham, Manchester or Liverpoool that get to the friggin Valley!

Looks like a trip part way to Evergreen's next Sunday is favourite, meet up with PiC and anyone else that fancy's it.....Dougal, Susie, Dan, anyone?

Got a ticket for the Bridge but I've also got a place in a corpotae box for the game. I hate sitting away from the Toon fans but I feel, in the circs, I should use it and give my ticket to another Toon supporter. Will see. Ticket for Charlton not yet arrived.

"Corpotae box" being typographically dyslexic for "Corporate".

I know a lad ower here who has a corpotae box, apparently, inside this box is a Keith Gillespie story he won't show anyone. I had a cardboard box when I was a bairn. I loved that box, I really did. I wish I still had it. It had a lid and everything ;-)
