What is your favorite Super Bowl party recipe? Doesn't have to be Super Bowl or a large gathering type recipe..maybe just a favorite recipe to impress family and friends..

This thread looks so lonely that I must de-lurk to post what Mr. L made for the Super Bowl party we went to.

1 jar cocktail sauce (I like Old Bay) 1 box cream cheese 1/2-1 pound seafood (shrimp or crab, go ahead and use the fake stuff) 1 box crackers (nice but not too flimsy, Sociables work well)

Soften cream cheese and spread on serving plate. Mix cocktail sauce and seafood together and layer on top of cream cheese. Sprinkle extra seafood on top. Arrange crackers around edge of plate. To eat, use cracker to scoop up seafood/cheese goop.

Our gathering of forensic science/criminal justice types immediately dubbed this dish "Carnage".

Grr. You know there should be line breaks in the ingredient list, right? And I typed my e-mail wrong. Perhaps this is why I don't post more.

My mom makes a kickass rotel sausage and hamburger cheese dip, but I don't have the recipe with me. But it's basically velveeta and browned sausage and hamburger and rotel. And maybe onions.

Never had a Super Bowl party. But I do love seven layer dip and I know you probably know how to make it.

However, my friend's mom made this tuna thing and called it ceviche, which it was not, but it was still good. Basically she made some pico de gallo and mixed it into some tuna (the spring water kind without the spring water) and lemoned that sucker to kill the fishy- ness. Put it in the fridge and we ate it with Tostitos. It was actually really good.

I'm heartbroken that I missed all the Superbowl hype.

I didn't even find out that I'd missed it until the Monday after, at work.

Obviously I had other things on my mind besides sports. Darn. Shame on me.

The last time we all gathered to watch the Superbowl, I promptly fell asleep, much to my friends' annoyance. The munchies were good though. The spinach dip is always a hit and the tiny eggrolls always burn your mouth no matter what. I really miss Doritoes, now that I'm pregs.

Hey, Leandra...thanks for de-lurking! "Carnage" not only sounds yum but I dig the name.

My two stand-by's for Superbowl (or any other big game day) are Chili Dip & Pizza Nachos:

Chili Dip is simple, and can be prepared and/or kept in a crock pot to keep warm (it's kinda gross when it cools off): 1 can Hormal (or other brand) chili, no beans 1 small onion, chopped 1 small can chopped green chilies approx. 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Mix all together and bake at 350 degrees until hot & cheese is melty. Or put all in crock pot on high until same. Serve with tortilla chips and lots of napkins. Recipe can be doubled/tripled...with no probs.

Pizza Nachos - same as Mexican nachos but with pizza toppings: Spread layer of tortilla chips on cookies sheet. Spoon spaghetti sauce (from jar/can) over lightly. Sprinkle shredded mozarella cheese over top. Add pizza topping of your choice: olives, pepperoni chopped into little bits, green onions, onions, etc. Don't pile too high, add more cheese to top if desired. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is melty.
