Why the silly Application

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Junkyard Wars : One Thread

I was wondering why they want the Application filled out in all CAPS? And also why there are the little boxes to put, as they say as much info as you can, the more the better, Would it not be better to have small boxes by the question for the 4 categories we could put a check mark in, and then use the rest for the response?

Also this is the Computer age, Why not be able to apply on line? I realize that you need a Video, but a lot of us can send these on line too.

Yup, we did consider setting up online application forms, but we thought it would be easier to sort through and view the applications if we had physical application forms and videos to sort through.

I am sure we will look at any modified application forms. In fact, we'll probably prefer them.

You are right --- it is the computer age. Since it is the computer age, why don't you just edit the HTML doc yourself, or just copy the text into your favorite text editor and set it up how you would like it. OK?

While this is an idea, what makes you think that an altered Application would be accepted? And you reply does not answer any thing in my question.

It's a filter, to help weed out those who can't read and follow directions, or are too lazy to get the little bit of work done to fill in the blanks and take the application to the post office. It likely takes out about half of the potential applications that RDF has to go thru to find contestants, which saves them a lot of time and money.
