Is there anybody who can give me any tips on how I can sell my b&w photos or get recognized as an independent photographer. I have known people that have been able to accomplish this but they never have botherd to help me.

My observation has been that those who are successful money-makers with photography are (1) superb creative photographers, (2) very hard workers, and (3) tireless self-promoters.

Ed hit the nail on the head! It is a NEVER ENDING battle in our world! It also seems that most photographers are very "proprietary" of how they did whatever they do... this probably will never change so it is a matter of getting out there and so to speak... hitting the pavement. Art shows/festivals are a way to to get some sales but there are no promises!

Great book, the photographers market 2000 edition, look for it on amazon.com it lists well over 15,000 some-odd mags and even greeting card publishers and the like that explains needs, pay rates along with what and when to send. like $20 or so bucks but well worth it for me....

CYA...
