Important info for anyone planning do Saturday's "adventure race" at Shawnee Mission Park

greenspun.com : LUSENET : orienteer kansas : One Thread

The start location has been changed. This note was posted on the KC adventure races egroup page:

The starting location for the "exercise" has been moved to the shelter at the top of the hill near the southwest end of the lake. We will still start promptly at 9 AM. We will plan to be there by 8:15 AM to allow enough time to copy the course from the master map. I anticipate that there will be many first timers without partners. Keep an open mind and be willing to team up with others. It will be much more fun to do this with some help, especially at the special test. (hint, hint)

More info about the event can be found by going in to the archives of the OK forum. Look under "coming events."

I realize this is completely off subject, however. I am a member of the Kansas State University Adventures Committee. We are hoping to put on an adventure race this spring and would appreciate any information on planning such an even that anyone could provide. Thank you for your time. Chris Faulkner-

Chris, there is an adventure racing club/group in Kansas City. They seem to be pretty active and have several people who have a experience organizing events. You can make contact with them through an "egroup" with the address of:
