Natural gas customers were hit yesterday with the highest ATCO Gas rate hike in its history - a 51% rate increase for northern Alberta.

Jeffrey Jodoin, a regulatory analyst with the Consumers Coalition, said the overall increase in the cost of natural gas will actually be 107% compared to a year ago for Edmonton residents when all taxes and fees on the bill are included.
