just you dear, have a digestive to eat, a nice sweet cup of tea, and you'll be alright in a wee while, it's just a blood sugar thing

LOL. Seriously, though...I can see us nicking a point off them. They won't be able to handle Dyer and remember how well we handled Hasselbaink at our place? So, they'll pull Poyet on us and he'll score as we can't defend against him but LKD will get the equaliser.

Given that Chelsea are excellent at home this season and banging in loads of goals, given that we haven't performed let alone won in London since the late eighteenth century.... and given that all runs must come to an end ..... we'll murder them

My thoughts exactly Geordie ;)

We owe them one. Anyone remember Ken Bates and his thumbs down motions when we were abusing him at the Bridge last season, presumably indicating that we were going to go down or that we were going to be tossed to the lions. Either way, he's up there with the most repulsive characters in football.

Every time I'm pessimistic about a match, we do better than expected.

Every time I fancy us to get a result, I end up disappointed.

So given that I'm pessimistic about this one, we'll get a result... except that means that I'm not pessimistic anymore so we won't... so...

Arrgh, my head's just exploded. S'why I hate speculating about future results. And please don't mention league position under any circumstances.

I'm with Dr. Bill on this one. I'm going to try very hard to fully expect us to get the thrashing I fully expected against Leeds(both games) and Manure, but you optimists, and the fact that we've got to win in London sometime are making it very difficult.

btw....even though I started off expecting us to get beat at Spurs and at Villa in the replay, by kick-off I believed we'd manage wins. So that's my theory, and I'm trying to stick to it. :-)

All the circular logic is of course correct.

Our biggest problem will be our confidence, coming off the back of a 3-1 win, with Dyer back, God we should stuff them or be stuffed

When was the last time we won two league games on the bounce? Too long ago! Draw at best.

Look here - this game is still a long way off. I can't shuffle around, eating my porridge, trying to avoid electricity blackouts, sniffling with a cold AND survive young George Bush WITHOUT the secret and perpetual thought that we are going to stuff them royally.

You living in CA, Sounder? Or have they just sucked up all the electricity from Oregon, Washington and western Canada by now?

You do have a point about needing some kind of optimism with all that adversity. Off the topic, and not sure it's true, but heard on the radio this morning that as a last act by Clinton White House staff they filled one of the press office printers with paper featuring a goofy photo of Georgie Boy. When the new staff went to print their first batch of press releases, it featured said photo. And the Clinton staff removed the W button from all the keyboards.

Childish, yes. And funny as hell!
