finally i got it to work properly after encoding a whole bunch of clips and then burning them and seeing which one works. well i also found out what my problem was. instead of choosing the VCD PAL i was choosing mpeg1 system and then changing the setting to PAL settings which seemed to cause the problem.

now for another question - which cd-r is the best to write onto for a PIONEER 535 (i kept on saying i had a 525 but infact i have a 535 - SORRY). the cd-rw that i use are silver but cannot find a cd-r that is silver all i can find are the blue, green, light green.
