Arrison, where pictures? I'm going to hound you till they're up sugarbutt.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I know! Al, I keep checking your website, and all I see is that picture and the link that says "for rudergirl". You have GOT to take that yuck off there.

Y'all, I totally didn't know Chinese New Year was today. I thought it was in, like, February.

I bad Chinese wife! I not uphold Chao Family Honor!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Y'all, I got my first roll back. Al, you're in like every shot.

Oh, there's Allison givign the MATH hand, there's a close up of Allison's face, there's Allison and AB dancing to Strokin', etc.

Although there's an _excellent_ one of Mike singing and one of the pretty pretty MATH girls. Oh, and a good shot of the exrusive Bellagio.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I can't wait to see those pictures.

Mike's entry was hilarious.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I go to work now. I see you jags in a few minutes.

Hi all. How's this fine Wednesday?

The inside of my suitcase will never, ever stop smelling of smoke.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Wow, a lot of people have read my Vegas recap. Most have linked from the forum, but now that she's linked to us from the front page (whoo hoo!!) I expect it to like, triple. And I've gotten quite a few from Erica's site too. Let's hope they stay.

Where are Al and T?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh. My. Lord. Why didn't I spiffy up my design when I had the chance?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I'm about to drive to Dallas and hijack Allison's pictures.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Man, I cannot wait to get mine back. I'll check after lunch today, but the lady said Thursday because I asked for them on disk as well.

It is so much fun reading the other recaps. Are there any diary- keeping folks who haven't written yet?

I did think of a couple of things I forgot that I'll add with the pictures Thursday.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Mike, did you fix the Alopekis thing??

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

What, did I spell it wrong?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Fixed. Damn. It's a sick world when I immediately stop writing my actual column for work, which has to be done soon or it'll be pointless, to fix my online journal.

Can't accuse me of not knowing what my priorities are.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Dear bitches and hos,

Last night, Allison stayed at the office until after 8 scanning your pictures. They are so good, and H and AB look so pretty in them, and there's this one of Mike that makes her nearly cry - because, who has eyes like that? - so she didn't feel bad about it at all.

So, she scans them all and uploads them and then goes home and geocities starts to fuck with her and she is about to take the iBook and throw it like a frisbee into the streets of Dallas.

But now, she's at work and, risking termination, she's going to post the damn pictures. Goddamit.

Love,

Hewlett Packard ScanJet 4C

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Yeah, you spelled it AlopekAS. I posted it in yesterday's thread.

I just got like 5 emails from Teri that she sent yesterday. Whatev yahoo.

Where are those jags?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Yay! Pictures!

It brings a tear to my eye to know that Allison and The Bermanater have their priorities straight.

MATH numbah one priority!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Whee!!! Pictures!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Where'd y'all go?

The Fuzz is talking about how dumb they are at math on page 7 of their stupid thread. Typical.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Good to see that BigMatt knows he's the whiny baby.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Okay, I'm here. Crap-ass morning.

Mike - No, at $200 a pop, Chris will be hitting the ACC tournament stag. Well, he'll be going with his friend Josh, a Duke alum, and a pack of other Duke fans. But yes, I agree, the ACC is the most ass- kickingest conference out there. (Except for the CrimiNoles. Hate them.) Also, your entry is great. Thanks for the shout-out, btw (Joh, I'm looking at you...)

Allison, I can't wait to see the pictures. Also, I think maybe I will look for a job with you. Sucks here. Chris' investigator said he's hire me, and that would be cool, but I'd have to carry a gun. And while it would be neat to pack heat, maybe I'll just go to law school in stead.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Okay, maybe I'm nitpicking, but what can Pres. Bush POSSIBLY have to do with the California power crisis that's been going on for about a year?

I know (probably more than I should) about the crisis there. It's Governor Davis. He messed up. California was the guinea pig state for deregulation, and unfortunately, other states where deregulation was going rather well (like Georgia) are now beginnint to panic. Urg.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Why can't I get into hotmail? This sucks.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, y'all, what is UP with Meloonsa talking like she's Chinese?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Y'all, she's going to be a lawyer. That gives me nightmares. I hope she doesn't become a public defender, or surely hundreds of innocent people will go to jail.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Whoa. Wait. Where is that?

Chin Feng will SO kick her ass.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

It's in the "Dear Retards" thread. Ugh. I think that AB should check her ass. You could say that her mutilation of the complex Mandarin-to-English grammar schism is offensive, and that she should prepare to be haunted by generations of CHao ancestors. Get all AMy Tan on her. Yeah.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I hate my job I hate my job I hate my job.

Would it be bad if I called one of my clients who I know loves me and loves my work and say, "So, I heard that y'all are growing - room for one more?"

I don't want to lobby, ever, but I really like doing the back-end work. Figuring out what needs to be lobbied, doing the back-end work, organizing the issues - that sort of thing.

Or I could go to law school. Dammit, if I had just gone when I finished college, I'd be nearly done wiht law school. I think I'll take the LSAT, to see how I do. Chris is all for it. I could go to Georgia State, be finished in three years...let's see, I'd be 27...Practice for a few years, maybe until I'm 30, then start having my babies, then eventually go back to work part time, from home, or something.

Yeah, because anyone can establish themselves in three years. Whatever, T. Ugh. Where did I put those painkillers?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Is there anyone here who likes their job right now? See, this is why SPC has to kick ass, so we can all retire.

T - you could definitely call your client and hint at it, say something like, "If you're ever hiring, I'd be really interested in hearing what you have to say" ... sort of asking for a job without pissing off your current employer.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Well, Cynthia (my boss, I guess) is looking, too. I know that if she goes somewhere, she'll take me with her, and I definitely won't stick aroung here if she leaves, regardless. No way, nuh-uh.

It would be nice to work for Agnes Scott, maybe. That would be fun. Ugh. I need a direction. I want to be like Mike. I want to work for the same company for five years.

So, yes, my options are open. Oh, how kick ass would it be to be an investigator?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Okay, well, I was so cryptic in my Amy Tan callout the DUMBs will never get it, least of all Mefoolsa.

T, I would so give anything to see you packin' heat.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, AB, they may not get it, but I roooooooooove that letter.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

The problem with staying at the same job for five years is that nobody else does. I'm 27, and I have, like, the sixth-longest tenure at dot-com, and we're a 100-plus person operation. I've seen so many people come and go. Every year it's a new editor to get used to. Etc.

Don't get me wrong -- it's a fun place to work. But I'll at least explore the option of moving on this summer, just to see what's out there.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

T- you should post a Dear So and So asking if you should become an investigator just so you can carry a gun, so we can all see the sheer terror that results among the fuzz.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Where was Meloonsa talking Chinese? Have y'all seen Al's photos?? Loving them!

T- i thought you liked your job. When did it start sucking?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Nooooo! Hannah, what's the URL? I can't check my mail from here!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

This day has FLOWN. I was in a meeting for 2 hours and we just broke for luncho. Go back soon. Full now because I scarfed it down.

What's new?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, my God! Those are great!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

My face is so read bc I'm literally screaming in order to sing. I LOVE that the pretty princess ring is blocking the lens. I LOVE that.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, Al, those are great. The part about the $2.99 steak dinner? Classic.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I just raced downstairs to see if my pictures were ready early, but they weren't.

Now the anticipation is killing me.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Yay! Greenspun is working.

But for how long??

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Herro?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Between greenspun and hotmail, this day has just sucked.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

But you have a luggage tag! And pictures of MATH! What could possibly suck about that?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Well, sure. That kicked ass.

But I can't talk to y'all, you. It's like I'm stuck outside with my face pressed against the glass because I have no e-mail and greenspun is always sketchy.

Those photos though ... how great was that?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

The photos are classic. It's almost like I was there, except I wasn't. Oh wel.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

But you were there in spirit. We did say, "Man, I wish T were here" quite a bit.

Besides, you probably thought you were in Vegas Friday night, what with the pain meds and all.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, for real. I think Johanna called me that night. Yes, I remember being upstairs in bes, all groggy, and I heard my mom talking to Johanna (I knew that because she said, "Oh, helllloooo, Josephine!") and the whole time she was talking, I was shouting (well, I thought I was, but my mom didn't hear me, so I guess my voice was a little weak), "Mom? Mom? I'm awake. Mom? Bonnie? Mom? Bonniieeeeeeee?" And then she brought the phone to me.

Wild horses couldn't keep me from the next MATHcon. And AB, all cute like a young (and less pretentious) Natalie Merchant with her shoes all off.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I am debating shirking my volunteer duties tonight. One, should I be in a nursery if I was in the hospital less than a week ago? And two, should I rock babies for three hours with my lower right incision hutging like it is?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

MATHcon 2001: Vaccuuming up the fuzz.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, for real. Someone was all, "Will Pamie be there??" Whatevuh. And don't even get me started on how I feel about those fools invading the Atlanta thread. I'm tempted to start a thread just for their stupid thing so that the Atlanta thread can get back to normal.

And as if anyone would miss what will surely be my best Mardi Gras party ever for crock-pot stew at ruderho's house.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I'm home, fresh from Big Daddy's liquor. Y'all know I'm raising Mad Madeleine right.

Chao Family have sake tonight for New Year! Arrison, you coming over for Chinese food and sake? We invite Chin Feng for you.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

"And as if anyone would miss what will surely be my best Mardi Gras party ever for crock-pot stew at ruderho's house."

Um, anyone who would do that deserves to be relegated to the fuzz.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

If this doesn't post...I am going to go hari kari on greenspun...

Chinese New Year tonight? You kidding! I supposed to meet with guitar player this evening, so I no know.

I have some editing to do on my Vegas commentary, but y'all liked the pictures, huh? Does it get any better than AB, jamming barefoot on Roberta Flack?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Okay, Arrison. Dis deal right here. You go meet guitar prayer, then you drive over to Ahlington and meet Chin Feng. You bling pictures, too.

Or we Hara Kiri you ourserves.

Got it, big shot singer?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

The big question tomorrow will be not whether I can match Allison's commentary, because I can't. It's whether I can figure out the whole text/photos/html thing.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Oh, Mike, no. You know you are a writah!

Bermanater numbah one sportswriter.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I am going to post one more story and then head home. I'm going to shirk my duties tonight. Instead, I'm going to put on very comfortable clothes and make a tuna fish sandwich and write delinquent thank-you notes and then go to bed. And this weekend I will go to the post office and mail delinquent Christmas presents.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Yeah, and I finally got my column up.

I think I start chats agan next week. Y'all ask some questions and I promise I'll deliver some MATH shoutouts.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Stupid greenspun!

M - since you use a geocities site, just lay out your pictures with Yahoo PageBuilder. It's drag and drop. That's what I did. Numbah one easy.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

You numbah one advice givah. Bettah than Michelle and mom.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

LIke a shout-out about the safety school league? Or are these fantasy baseball chats? Because if they're that kind of chat, I will have some from Chris (alas, not the MOC Chris.).

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Like the fantasy baseball ones, although hopefully they'll make more sense.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Can I say this ... I've had Carol's journal bookmarked for awhile (and she's updated, like, once in six months) and it never dawned on me in Vegas that that she was the same person who wrote Fleeting Imprints.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

But they'll be about fantasy baseball?

Okay, I'm going home now. With my beautiful tulips. Thank you all.

T.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

No, I think he's saying his upcoming chats will be about basketball? Or am I wrong? Whichever way, I can't wait. The chats are the best.

Has anyone commented on this yet?

"dear forum, please keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers. she had to go into the hospital today and was diagnosed with advanced stages of muscular dystrophy. as of right now she isn't doing too well. i'm trying to keep it together as much as possible. thanks, jess"

Y'all!

And, T. Did you STILL not get your flowers? I threw DOWN on the florist today and they PROMISED me.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Ah, well. Clearly, I can't read. Good, good. You got them. Hooray! We miss you, Clyde!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Did somebody say up there that Pigfatt knew he was a whiny baby?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Yeah .., on Page 7, I think, of the last fuzz thread.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I hate not having photo editorship. Oh well.

I'd forgotten that AB'd taken her shoes off. She's so cuuuuuuute.

I was in the longest meeting ever.

Yeah, I commented on the Jessifer thing in yesterday's thread. She's either a horrible person for lying, has Munchausen or whatever, or the worst luck EVER

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Awfully intuitive of him... I wonder how he knew...

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Wait. PigFatt figured out he was whiny baby?? How? Where have I been all my life?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

In a meeting.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Arrison, Lorelei_Lee rove you in Dear Squishites.

Nah, Han, he hasn't figured out that he sucks yet or anything. They were talking about how they're bad at math in one of their dumb threads.

And I was laughing because we're obviously all so good at MATH.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Y'all, I am just going to have to make it my mission in life to seduce L_L back away from the DUMB Side. She is one of my faves, you know? And I just can't have her going fuzz.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Are y'all going to be here for awhile? I have to go move my car in a sec.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Someone went in there and told them how good we all are at MATH, tho, right? Right?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Nah. You're the smackdown artist, and you were gone.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Han, you should just go MATH all over their thread.

MATH!

MATH!

Instead of padding, you'd be MATHing.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

I have to go cook things now.

Al, you going to try to come to the Chao House Extravaganza?

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

No, y'all, he said "this whiny baby's going home." He does know. Hmm. Interesting.

I still can't believe Ruderskank emailed Arrison. She suck.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Or maybe he's used to being called a whiney baby.

All right, y'all, I have to jet. Playing basketball tonight, trying to get back into reasonable shape after last weekend's debacle.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

AB - I cannot make it to honorable Chao House Party. I very upset about it! Have to seeeeng. No want to sing right now at all. Also have to crean house and unpack.

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Microsoft is down. That's why nobody here can get into hotmail.

They'd better get it fixed or I'll die.

Happy Chinese New Year y'all. Hasta manana. MATH numbah one!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Arrison -- That's okay, but Vincent Feng Chao very upset. He say you no numbah one no more.

But I still rove you. Night, my MATHletes!

-- Anonymous, January 24, 2001

Vince Chao still rove me! I know he does! Going home to dishonored house.
