Any other reports?

You can see a slick analysis of split times for the first day at Texas. Go to the winsplits site and look for the Red River Ramble.

One thing you can do at Winsplits is get an estimate of anyone's time if they made no mistakes. So, I looked at how Dan and Fritz did. Of course, I already knew Dan had run pretty well and Fritz had made some major mistakes. Winsplits shows Dan's miss-free time as just 47 seconds better than his actual time. But, Fritz' miss-free time was 33 minutes better than his actual time. Winsplits shows my miss-free time as about 3:30 better than my actual time.

Note that on the first day, the split for the 6th control did not register, so what shows is a combination of legs 6 and 7. I had a very good 6th leg, as I'm sure most others did, but not so good 7th leg. I did not realize how very much time I lost on the long 14th leg.
